Directions to Tory Island
From Letterkenny: heading northwest direction: Follow the N56 signs along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way. Just after you leave Gortahork, make sure to take the right fork for the R257 to Magheroarty – the road fork is just outside of town (200m) after the last garage on the left. Follow the Wild Atlantic Way signs until you reach Magheroarty (3km) then take the right down the hill to the harbour.
From Gweedore, Dunloe: heading northeast direction: Follow the N56 until the junction
just before Gortahork, take the left for the R257 to Magheroarty, and head along the northern route of the
Wild Atlantic Way until you reach Magheroarty (3km) – Follow the sign pointing down to the
harbour, turn right down the hill to Magheroarty beach (on your right, and the harbour straight ahead).
The Narossa surfing shop and the public toilets are on your left at the bottom of the hill.
- Public Parking is available in the parking areas above the beach on your right hand side.
- Letterkenny to Magheroarty will take about one hour by car. Best to arrive 30 minutes before the ferry departure time. The pier walk is about 5 to 10 minutes.
